WHO WE ARE:

Christ Spiritual Center is dedicated to the L.C.T. of Christianity.  The Learning, Connecting, and Transforming Power of uniting with God.  It is our goal to know God directly, and this is completely different from any doctrinal or legalistic kind of Christianity.  This is what it means:
1.  While we honor the Scriptures, we want to know God directly, not just through Scriptures.  There is much more to God than what has been written in Scriptures.
2. While we respect our heritage of teachings about God, we want to know God personally, not just through doctrines or teachings.
3. While we gather in group worship to honor God, our Savior, we go beyond the religion about Jesus, we want to truly understand Jesus and follow His example more closely.
The name of our "Prayer Group" is "Meditation and More".  To many Christians words such as meditation, mystic, or mysticism can bring to mind Eastern religions.  However, mysticism is not only a vital part of the Christian heritage but it is actually the core of Christian Spirituality.
Mysticism simply means the "Spirituality of the Direct Experience with God".   It is a form of knowing God, which goes beyond intellectual understanding and is based on "true faith".  It is an experience, which can be described as emotional since it is compared to being part of the "body of Christ".
Jesus Christ proclaimed, "I and the Father are one" (Jn.10:30) showing the world what the union of God and man can be.   Christian Mysticism is simply this special "transforming union with Christ".   It is to be fully permeated with God, just as Christ is.
There are volumes of books written about "Christian Mystical Experiences".  Individuals such Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross-, and Sister Faustina, just to name a few.  All of them experienced God, through Jesus Christ, experienced His love and care, which ultimately developed into a personal "union" with God.

We at Christ Spiritual Center profess that Jesus Christ is the Son of the Almighty God the Father.  He came to this world as the Messiah, to become for all humanity, the perfect sacrifice as the Lamb of God. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, died for our sins so that all who comes to Him would have eternal life.  Three days after Jesus Christ died; He was raised from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.  His kingdom will have no end.  We believe in baptism of the Holy Spirit, in miracles, prophecies, healing, signs of wonders, and deliverance.  We believe in the Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Some people today believe that God no longer sends messengers to spread His words to the world today.  They further believe that since Jesus' first visit, there has not been any Prophets of God to deliver His message. They believe that Prophets of God are not for our generation.  However, didn't every generation believe that?  However, if you look at the Bible, the Apostle Paul believed that there would be more Prophets of God in times to come.  Paul quoted Elijah while explaining in his letter to the Romans that God said He would not forsake His people, that there would be plenty of "Prophets" to continue to deliver the Word of God.
Romans 11:2-5
God has not rejected His people that He foreknew.  Do you not know what the Scripture says about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel.  Lord, they have killed Your "Prophets", they have torn down your altars, and I am left alone, yet they are seeking my life.
Mathew 23:29-36
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!  Because you build the tombs of the "Prophets" and adorn the memorials of the righteous.  And say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have joined them in shedding the Prophets blood.  Wherefore, you bear witness against yourself, that you are children of those who murdered the prophets.  Now fill up what your ancestors measured out. You serpents, you brood of vipers, how can you flee from the judgment of the damnation of hell?  Therefore, behold, I send to you Prophets, wise men and scribes.  Some of them you will kill and crucify, some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. That upon you may come all the righteous bloodshed upon the earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.  Amen, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.
may come all the righteous bloodshed upon the earth, from the blood of the righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you murdered between the sanctuary and the altar.  Amen, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

Acts 21:8-9
And the next day, we that were of Paul's company departed and came to Caesarea, and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven, and abode with Him.  And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which had the gift of Prophecy.

Prophets are mentioned in the New Testament over 150 times.

There were many prophets, who were mentioned in the Bible after the death of Jesus, and they were "Spiritually Inspired to Declare God's will and Purpose, which is yet to happen".  For example, the events of the entire book of Revelation are yet to happen, therefore, John must have been a Prophet since Revelation was written about 90 AD, after the death of Jesus.
A Prophet is either a man or woman who hears the Word of God and shares it with others to bring them closer to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Yes, God still uses humankind to share His Word worldwide.  Through the spiritual gift of Prophecy, given by the Holy Spirit, as one of the spiritual gifts promised by God.

Therefore, if you believe that there are no longer "Prophets" then you must also believe that God's plan for humanity has already been revealed.   Of course not!  Yes, there are Prophets today!
So you might ask, "Who does God choose and use as a Prophet"?
Well, did you know that 1 out of the 4 major Prophets of the Bible were children called by God to be His Prophets.  God especially takes pleasure in the children, for they are, "pure and innocent and free from sin".

Statement of Faith
Christ Spiritual Center
GOD IS NOT INTERESTED IN RELIGION, but He is tremendously interested in life. You cannot read the New Testament without realizing that the Lord Jesus did not hesitate to break the Sabbath regulations of His day when those regulations violated the real need of a broken human being for healing. God is not nearly so interested in stained-glass windows, organ music, congregational hymns, or pastoral prayers as He is in producing love-filled homes, generous hearts, and brave men and women who can live godly lives in the midst of a dark and evil world. His goal for our lives is that we be people of undefiled minds and undefiled hearts, living and projecting His truth and His character in a sin-ridden world.  RAY C. SHEDMAN
