Christ Catholic Spiritual Center:
Meditation and More at the Christ Catholic Spiritual Center started out as a Christian guided imagery meditation group. During group time, relaxation techniques, aromatherapy, and prayers would be taught and exercised. The purpose for these spiritual exercises was to develop a close relationship with God, and ultimately obtain a transformation of the soul. Furthermore, Christian spiritual music would be played during these group meetings to bring us closer to our focus, Jesus Christ.
However, during this year, the group has been blessed with the addition of a 13-year-old Prophet, and his 16-year-old sister, who is also blessed with many amazing gifts from the Holy Spirit. The children are given messages from the "other side" and those messages are shared with the group.
Jesus has actually developed the format for when our group meets on Friday. First, we begin by singing praise music as a way of inviting the Holy Spirit and opening up our hearts to God. The music helps us to relax and open to God, and to one another. Then we gather in a circle for opening prayer. Some stand or sit depending on what works for them. Prayer requests are offered at this time and the sharing of petitions to God.
Communion is offered to all attending. We use unleavened bread and grape juice, to signify the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity. Communion music is played as everyone partakes in the breaking of bread. Immediately after, meditative music is played along with a prayer. Another music/prayer is usually played from the TAIZE selection. This is also a time to meditate and communicate with God, either through prayer or personal supplication. These spiritual exercises allow people to grow into a deeper and more personal relationship with God.
Our group meets every Friday night at 7:00 p.m. However, a lot of fellowship takes place, with the sharing of desserts from different homes, so plan more than one hour for this experience.
Exploring different approaches to prayer (healing, inner prayer, confession, etc.) can be intellectually as well as spiritually nourishing. Special events such as house blessing and healings are provided and officiated by our priest. Communion to the homebound and the Sacrament of the Sick are also provided to those in need.
So what can you expect when you come to one of our meetings? Expect to always be deeply loved and surrounded by God's presence and grace. Expect God to be working within you, sometimes astounding physical, emotional, or spiritual healings can occur on a very quick basis. God will also bring His peace and love in stunning ways as He draws you closer and closer to Him. However, the graces of the deep friendships that develop are probably the most remarkable blessings that God bestows upon our group.
